Home Energy Audit Photo Album: Home Energy Audit with Heat Pump and Insulation Installation in Southampton, NJ
These clients in Leisure Town were facing high electric bills and uncomfortable rooms during summer and winter. The old heating system was electric baseboards with a thermostat in each room. It was costing over $500 per month for heat in the winter in a 2 bedroom rancher.
We did an energy audit and found that utility bills could be slashed by over 50% if the home was sealed and insulated properly and the old air conditioner replaced with an Amana 21 SEER heat pump. Heat pumps cool in the summer but also provide inexpensive heat in the winter. We built a new sealed and insulated duct system in the attic as well.
The home is now super comfortable and the electric bills are minimal. As an added bonus, the homeowners report that the cellulose insulation made the house much quieter. They don't hear the rain on the roof like they used to.
This project qualified for a $4,000 rebate with 0% interest loan for 7-years on the balance through the NJ Home Performance Program.
